I am not a runner

Today I got up bright & early (for me) to pick up the baby from my parents and head down to the "Shining Sea" bike path in Falmouth. I drove around sippewisset for about 10 minutes trying to find the very beginning of the path (because I'm OCD like that) but couldn't find it, so I parked down on Depot ave by the bus station. Today was the most absolute perfect day for walking the bike path. I was attempting to run/jog with the stroller and a squirmy 2 year old, but it wasn't in the cards. I came to the conclusion that I am not a runner anyways, the only time I "run" which is more like an uncoordinated jog, is on the eliptical at the gym to warm up. I don't enjoy running in the least bit, I more of a lifting weights & kicking ass kinda person, but I'm just weird like that. But the baby and I had a great day, it took us about 2 hours to walk from depot ave to nobska rd & back, but that's including stopping at the hot dog stand to get him lunch, and me stopping multiple times to pick up his water cup and apologise to the bikers he almost took out *sighs* I also spotted a really awesome bird that was all black except for orange shoulders, and I know Barry told be the name of it but I can't remember the name of it. I don't think birds even have shoulders to speak of, but that's the best description I could come up with. Well here's the pictures from our walk , I have to go make dinner before I go work the 4 PM shit show, and shit show it will be because I'm working on a weekend by myself on the first official "tourist" weekend on cape cod. Alice In Vegan Land

So I made my first official home made vegan dinner, and in Michael's terms "it's not bad .... just don't tell anyone I ate tofu fairy food" .... I even broke out the electric wok with out burning myself. It's a process, and not every day is going to be a perfect vegan day, but I'm working on it :-)

Skank-a-saurous Rex Strikes Again

For those of you who know me it shouldn't be a big shock that I'm not a Miley Cyrus fan. I don't know if I overnight have turned into hellacious prude, but I hope I'm not alone when I say: WTF

27 Slutty Prom Dresses

Recently, one prom dress got a teen arrested...we might've found 27 more.

When we brought you the story of the Texas girl who was arrested because of the dress she wore to her prom, we wondered: What other tasteless attire is being marketed to our teens? Turns out there's a lot. So, in honor of the hit chick flick movie 27 Dresses, we found you 27 dresses that may not be bad enough to land your kid in handcuffs but could ground them for life.

Tomorrow, check back for advice on what to do if your teen insists on going to prom dressed like a teen tart and how to put some class back into prom.

I think I speak for most of the general public, not just mom's when I say .... OMG WTF!>!>!>!>! Seriously there is something wrong not just with the fashion industry who are creating these "dresses" & marketing them, but what the hell are the parents thinking?!?!?! . At least I know that when I worked at the GAP in high school I would not have been able to afford everthing that goes into the prom on my $100 a week check (if I even made that much).Notice the sucession of pictures to the preggo one .... yeah we wonder why teen pregnancy is on the rise, I'm sure magazines golrifying Jamie Lyn Spears doesn't help the cause, but I digress Even so called "kid oriented programs" and the "stars" eventually mutate into what I call the "soft porn jenna jameson" look. God save my soul if I ever have a daughter. I think I'll take up a collection of bowie knives.

*sighs*

So on my vegan mission, today I bought "The Vegan Sourcebook; second edition" by Joanne Stepaniak M.S. ED, "The Vegetarian Family Cookbook" by Nava Atlas and "101 Things To Do With Tofu" by Donna Kelly & Anne Tegtmeier, in order to properly educate myself on the subject and learn the proper nutritional values, etc. I'm really excited about this, and my Mr supports whatever it is that I'm involved in, however the one thing that I really wish he would do is watch the video "Meet Your Meat" narrated by Alec Baldwin on the PETA website. The video shows uncover videos of factory farms, and what happens to the animals that become our dinner. I'm not one to pressure anyone by any means, but I just really wanted him to watch the video and truly understand why I am so adament about not participating in the consumption or purchase of any animal products, or buying from companies that use animal testing. He like everyone else, doesn't agree with how these animals are treated, but he "just can't" watch the video. I guess it would just mean a lot to me if my husband could see for himself the atrocities that affected me so deeply, and have a greater appreciation for my beliefs. *sighs*

You've Got To Be Friggin Kidding Me

Watch more videos at KentuckyFriedCruelty.com.

I randomly decided to look into this animal cruelty thing after reading a friend's blog about "beak trimming" because I had never heard of it, and I found this after exploring the PETA website. I always thought that PETA was a bunch of vegitarian fruitcakes, but it literally made me sick to my stomache after I watched this. I don't understand how this can be legal to do to any animal, if someone was hurting a cat or dog in this way they would go to jail (after being charged 37 times, but I digress...).... Eff fast food

Are You Threatening Me?

I officially have my OWN car in my OWN name for the first time ever!!!! I'm pretty psyched, I got an awesome 2.9 % finance rate, and pay $72.00 less a month in car payments then I was with the blazer. I traveled 50 miles today and the fuel gauge didn't even budge!! That woulda been 1/4 tank right there in the blazer. The car insurance is all set, I pay $98.00 a month which is awesome, the only thing left is to go back and sign for the gap insurance that I forgot to get, after that I'm done with all this new car stuff. It was pretty much the most stressful thing I've ever had to do, way more stressful than my wedding!!! I had to leave the finance office to have a melt down on the curb near my truck.... but I think it scared them into knocking off $20.00 a month on the payment.

I test drove the corolla, but honestly I wasn't excited about it, it had a very cheap interior, and I wanted to be excited about having my own car. The Nissan for me is more car for less money and is more fun to drive. I'm probably the only person in the world who doesn't love corolla's but what are ya gonna do.

House Wife 1 Blazer 0

Tommarrow I bid farewell to my death trap on wheels. I'm a bit nostalgic with my blazer, after all we brought Michael Jr home from the hospital in it. But the warranty is up in 2 weeks and my dealership is too incompetant to fix the reoccuring problems with this white trash mobile. I'll miss having the comfort of a suv, but I won't miss the 11/15 fuel consumption, I'm pretty sure that my truck has a funnel hat as a gas tank. Plus it's not exactly reassuring when you search consumer reports history on a chevy blazer and a tombstone complete with circling buzzards appears. Tommarrow I will settle into my mom mobile, a brand new 2008 nissan sentra with a fuel economy of 25/33, I can leave the heart medication at home from now on when I go to the gas pumps, and this time it won't be twice a week. So I pick up my new car tommarrow, and there will be pictures to follow.
